Aileen McCormack Counselling and Training in Glasgow

Counselling . Ben bulben

Each counselling session is 50 minutes long. When you come for your first session, we will spend time exploring what you would like to gain from counselling and to see if we are a good match to work together. From there we can arrange more sessions or you may need some time to think about this.

I have availability on Mondays to Fridays, various times 9-6pm online via Zoom, at West George Street.
Sessions cost £50

The aim of Person Centered Counselling and how I work, is to help build a trusting relationship in order for you to explore the issues that are concerning you. It is not for me to give you advice or tell you what to do. The Person Centered Approach believes that the client has the resources and ability to become more aware and make changes in their life. I aim to provide a warm and open space for you to work at your own pace.

Counselling can be both a rewarding and challenging process, which tends to work best with regular attendance and commitment. You may not be sure how many sessions you might need or if counselling is for you. My approach is to work very much collaboratively and in partnership with clients both in terms of planning and content of sessions, Our work together maybe be long-term or short-term and this might become more apparent during therapy.

Taking the decision to come to counselling can be a daunting and emotional one. You may have had good or bad experiences of counselling in the past or have never been before, all of which may influence your decision to engage with counselling.

From my experience, clients frequently come to me for counselling as they find it too difficult to speak to family, friends and partners about challenging or unsettling issues or feelings. The counselling room offers the neutral space that can allow you to talk openly, freely and without judgement.
